INGENIO PRIZE GOES TO 2XM INTERACTIVE
November 25, 2011
Loto-Québec subsidiary Ingenio today officially awarded $2,000 to 2XM Interactive, winner of the Prix Mobiz Relève 2011, a prize determined by public vote at the Mobiz Mobile Conference held October 31, 2011.
Ingenio, Loto-Québec’s research and development arm, was a partner in the inaugural edition of this new event focused entirely on mobility in the province of Québec. “Ingenio has awarded this prize to highlight the innovations and originality of new businesses,” said Nathalie Rajotte, Director General at Ingenio. “2XM is a young yet very promising company that has quickly earned its place in the mobile applications and interactive installations market,” she added.
“We are very proud to receive this award money, on top of the trophy we picked up just a few weeks ago, especially since we’re being recognized by people in the industry,” said Antoine Azar, President and CEO of 2XM Interactive, a mobile apps and interactive installations agency founded in 2008 that has created interactive touch surfaces as well as mobile apps for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7.
After finishing among the four finalists selected by a panel of mobile and multimedia industry professionals, 2XM nabbed the top spot in the competition after demonstrating the first-time use of its mobile software platform to Mobiz participants. “We developed a system for the STM that enabled the 80,000 people at the U2 concert in Montréal to control a 3D bus, as a group, by using their smart phones as virtual steering wheels,” explained Antoine Azar. Working closely with SPEED Promotions, 2XM Interactive gave players a one-of-a-kind and entertaining experience that tied in closely with the STM’s message.
