INDIANA FATHER GIVES SON $150,000 WINNING LOTTERY TICKET FOR CHRISTMAS
January 6, 2012
A New Albany man gave his son the present to beat all presents this Christmas. Vernard Noble of Dayton, Ohio was on the receiving end of a gift exchange that worked out in his favor. Noble was celebrating the holidays with his father in New Albany a few days after Christmas when he received an amazing present – a $150,000 winning Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off ticket.
While Noble said he “wanted to dance” after scratching the ticket, he is extremely grateful and is keeping a level head and taking a cool approach. The heavy equipment operator is sure of only one thing – he wants to use his winnings to help his father. Other than that, Noble says he plans to “absorb it for a while, then decide what to do.”
“It’s shocking and hard to imagine,” said Vernard’s wife Celeste. “Everybody talks about what they’d do if they won, but when it really happens it’s overwhelming and you don’t know exactly what to do with it.”
The elder Noble purchased the winning Jingle Bens ticket at Thornton’s at 1401 State Route 11 in New Albany.
