IDAHO LOTTERY ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF IDAHO $1,000,000 RAFFLE DURING ORANGE TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY

Seeing orange this holiday season could be one lucky Idaho Lottery player’s ticket to winning a guaranteed $1,000,000 by New Year’s. After lighting a commemorative 7 ½ foot “orange” Christmas tree during a ceremony this morning at a Jacksons Food Store in downtown Boise, the Idaho Lottery announced this year’s plans for their fifth annual version of the Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle.
“With a guaranteed top prize of $1,000,000, this game continues to be one of the most anticipated games we offer each year,” said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “Each of the previous four years we’ve offered this game it has sold out before our winning numbers announcement.”
Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle tickets went on sale this morning at 4:00 a.m. Mountain Time. This game represents the best odds of winning $1,000,000 on any game offered by the Idaho Lottery. Tickets remain $10 each and only 250,000 will be sold.
The number of prizes in the game is identical to last year’s game that sold out on Christmas Eve. This year’s game features a total of 2,505 prizes. In addition to the top prize of $1,000,000, there are four prizes of $25,000 and 2,500 other prizes ranging from $50 to $250.
“This game does have a limited number of tickets and when they’re gone, they’re gone. No additional tickets will be issued after the game sells out,” added Anderson. “With a guaranteed top prize of $1,000,000, we remind our players to share in the excitement of the game, but to please play responsibly.”
Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle tickets will remain on sale until December 30, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Mountain Time or when the last ticket is sold. The winning numbers announcement will take place on December 30, 2011 at 9:00 p.m. Mountain Time. Anderson also encouraged players to sign the back of their ticket once it has been purchased and to keep it in a safe place until the Lottery announces the winners on December 30, 2011. The $1,000,000 top prize and the four $25,000 prizes must be claimed at Lottery Headquarters in Boise. All other prizes in the game may be claimed at Lottery retail locations beginning at 9:01 p.m. Mountain Time on December 30, 2011.
