GROUP OF 15 HOSPITAL CO-WORKERS CLAIM AZUSA MEGA MILLIONS TICKET WORTH $202,000!
December 14, 2011
A group of 15 hospital co-workers received an early Christmas present over the weekend. They purchased a MEGA Millions ticket for last Friday’s drawing that matched five of six numbers, earning the group a cool $202,991 prize!
Dennis Moreno, the leader of the group and the person who purchased the winning ticket, claimed the winning ticket yesterday at the California Lottery’s Santa Ana District Office.
When asked what he would do with his portion of the prize money, Dennis said he hadn’t had a chance to think about it because the excitement of the group’s win was still “sinking in.” He did however say that the prize money couldn’t have come at a better time for many of the members of the group, especially with the holidays being just around the corner.
Dennis said he realized he had the winning ticket Sunday afternoon and broke the news to his co-workers at work on Monday. “Everyone was very excited,” Dennis said. “People started screaming and everyone was just in awe.”
The winning ticket was sold at Don’s Liquor & Deli, which is located at 5215 North Clydebank Avenue in Azusa (Los Angeles County). Their ticket was a Quick Pick wager of $15. The ticket matched the numbers 12, 29, 49, 4, and 51, missing only the Mega number of 44.
