January 6, 2012
The Delaware Lottery is now offering bettors the opportunity to wager on the team they think will win the 2012 Pro Football Championship Game.
The Delaware Sports Lottery has opened wagering on each of the 12 pro football playoff teams with the Green Bay Packers favored to repeat as champions followed by the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints. The Denver Broncos are the longest shot on the board.
To win the bet, a team must win at least three NFL games. To win the Championship Game, a team must win a Divisional playoff game and the Conference Championship game as well as the Championship Game. Some teams will also have to win a Wild Card playoff game.
Wagering will remain open until kickoff of the first divisional playoff game at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 14. “We’re excited to introduce this offering to our customers and give them the opportunity to back their team all the way to the Championship,” said Vernon Kirk, Acting Director of the Delaware Lottery. For the latest odds, bettors can visit one of the Delaware Lottery sports books located at Delaware Park, Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway.
In addition to wagering on the Championship Game winner, the Delaware Sports Lottery’s postseason offerings include the “Playoff Special” card, in which bettors must pick one game with the point spread and two games with no point spread, the ½ Point parlay card and the Teaser card.
