Background: The D.C. Lottery launched D.C. Gold in February 2011 as a follow-up Scratcher to the popular District of Columbia Black. Like its predecessor, D.C. Gold boasts two $1 Million grand prizes, but ups the ante with an additional $1 Million second chance prize. In fact, this $20 Scratcher has more than $11 million in prizes.
This season, the DC Lottery partnered with the Washington Nationals to promote a wide range of new and exciting scratcher games, including D.C. Gold and Dubble Bubble Doubler. As part of this partnership, the Nationals incorporated a dedicated DC Lottery window inside the team store box office and hosted Money Machine Madness promotions at the ballpark, giving fans a chance to enter a raffle to win up to $10,000 in cash and other prizes.
The July 29 game against the New York Mets marks the final Money Machine Madness promotion. Fans purchasing a D.C. Gold Scratcher receive five entries into the raffle and one entry when they purchase a Double Bubble Doubler Scratcher.
