COLORADO LOTTERY INTRODUCES SCRATCH TICKETS WITH SPANISH INSTRUCTIONS
January 10, 2012
Beginning with the 2011 - 2012 Holiday Games – play instructions on most Colorado Lottery Scratch tickets will begin appearing in both English and Spanish. Scratch tickets with the Spanish instructions can be found across the state at any of the Colorado Lottery’s 3,000 retailers.
“We believe that offering instructions in Spanish will help the Lottery provide better service to our customers,” said Abel J. Tapia, director of the Colorado Lottery. “Our research shows that our games are very popular with Colorado’s Spanish-speaking Latino population.”
Scratch games that feature play instructions on the front of the tickets will now have Spanish play instructions printed under the English version. To get the Spanish instructions, players can scratch off the area covered by the English instructions – a “banner” on the front of the ticket shows where players should scratch to find the Spanish instructions.
