CLOVIS MAN BUYS $100,000 WINNING LOTTERY TICKET AT LUCKY RESTAURANT
June 20, 2011
For the second time in a year, the Kripple Creek Restaurant has sold a big winner Scratcher ticket.
On Wednesday, Clovis resident Eddie Anaya discovered a $100,000 prize while sipping morning coffee in the restaurant and playing the New Mexico Lottery’s “Platinum Card” Scratcher.
Eddie Anaya, “I couldn’t believe I won,” Anaya said. “I was shocked.”
One of the first people Anaya told was Gloria Bock, who won a $50,000 prize in July 2010 on a Scratcher she purchased at the Kripple Creek Restaurant. Bock happened to be in the eatery at the exact moment Anaya revealed his prize.
“She was shocked, too,” Anaya recalled for lottery officials in Albuquerque. “She told me that I had better sign it right away.”
After claiming his prize in person today, Anaya said he planned to begin shopping for a new car.
