Dclottery.com is getting a facelift. On Wednesday, September 28, 2011, the D.C. Lottery will reveal the newest iteration of its official website. With enhanced user functionality, the implementation of social media elements, and a complete graphics overhaul--the agency is upping the ante on its Internet presence to deliver a superior experience to its customers.
“We’re going ‘all-in’ on the new website,” said Buddy Roogow, executive director of the D.C. Lottery. “We know players come for the winning numbers and jackpot amounts. With the added improvements, we’re counting on them to browse the site, explore, and extend their D.C. Lottery online experience.”
Essentially, the site will transition to a look and feel that is more in keeping with consumer trends and likes. Visitors to the webpage will find it easier to navigate, locate information such as remaining top prizes, and share videos, promotions, and other fun features with their social networks. Generic patterned webpage backgrounds will give way to scenes specific and unique to the beauty of the District and the excitement of D.C. Lottery games. And, news releases are now available via RSS, increasing user convenience.
Among the new features is an improved benefit to the city’s nonprofit organizations seeking the assistance of the agency’s Charitable Gaming division. Nonprofits will now find a simplified and expedited online application process. To date, the agency has helped local nonprofits raise more than $105 million in support of social causes.
