CARROLL COUNTY MAN POSITIONED FOR $200K POWERBALL WIN

A Carroll County man is carrying home a Georgia Lottery win. Leland Hughes of Carrollton matched the first five winning numbers in the Oct. 15 Powerball drawing, resulting in a $200,000 prize.
Hughes claimed his prize Friday at Georgia Lottery headquarters.
Winning numbers from the drawing were: 5-10-24-38-43 and the Powerball was 1.
Southside Amoco, 1979 Highway 27 S. in Carrollton, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket.
“I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “My wife checked online, and she kept looking at the numbers.”
Hughes and his wife, Deborah, feel great about winning the lottery. They have no immediate plans for their win.
The couple have two adult children and celebrated their 42nd anniversary this year.
