ARIZONA LOTTERY ANNOUNCES WORLD SERIES OF POKER SECOND CHANCE DRAWING WINNERS
June 20, 2011
PHOENIX — The Arizona Lottery announced the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Scratchers second chance drawing winners today, awarding two grand prize packages and eight World Series of Poker branded merchandise prize packs.
Eric Perez of Goodyear and Keith Komar of Phoenix were drawn as the grand prize winners, receiving the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas and a seat at the 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event.
Perez, 25, entered approximately 60 WSOP Scratchers into the second chance drawing. He is a recreational poker player and is planning to bring his wife with him to the tournament in Las Vegas.
“I can’t wait to get to Vegas and start playing,” said Perez. “I didn’t think I was actually going to win, but I bought tickets slowly and kept cashing in the winning ones to buy more.”
“This is so exciting! I just hope I don’t hurt my back jumping up and down,” said Komar, a stay-at-home dad. “As soon as we get off the phone, I’m going to call my wife who’s at work right now.”
The grand prize package includes roundtrip airfare to Las Vegas for each winner and a guest, along with four nights and five days of hotel accommodations, ground transportation, tournament entry fee valued at $10,000, and $500 in spending money.
“It is especially exciting to award the World Series of Poker prizes, since it is such a unique and popular Scratchers ticket,” said Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director of the Arizona Lottery. “We’re thrilled to know that Arizona will be represented in such a renowned national poker event.”
