$40,000 POWERBALL POWER PLAY WINNER IN RHODE ISLAND

he $254 million PowerBall jackpot was hit in the neighboring state, Connecticut, but Rhode Island players didn’t walk away empty handed. There was one $40,000 winner and more than 17,500 players that won prizes ranging from $4 to $400!
The $40,000 winning ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall number, for a standard payout of $10,000. The winner opted to play Power Play for an extra dollar on the wager, which multiplied the $10,000 prize by four, last night’s Power Play number, to equal $40,000.
Shop N’ Go at 253 Greenville Ave., Johnston, sold the winning ticket. The prize has yet to be claimed.
