Of this $1.55 million, 14 Rhode Island Lottery players cashed in tickets winning $10,000 or more for a combined total of $1,297,000 claimed in high tier prizes. The Cumberland man who won $100,000 on the World Series of Poker was Frederick Lajoie. His luck has changed a lot in the last week since being in the hospital for heart problems just days earlier. He plans to treat his grandson to a vacation with some of the winnings.
